Scam 1992

I just finished binge watching Scam 1992 over the weekend and all the rave reviews do it justice.

Pratik Gandhi portrayal of The Big Bull is spot on. You admire and hate the person at the same time. From the Jobber to the small time trader everyone wanted to be Harshad Mehta, such was his persona. The direction of his palm would command the trading floor. As the saying goes “do not look down upon others” and I think that is what I feel led to his downfall.

Sucheta Dalal is another interesting character. While she is unbiased and just wants the truth you do get a sense that she has a personal vendetta against Harshad Mehta. Why were the other brokers not pursued with so much vigour. She did uncover a major flaw in our banking system but I feel everyone involved should be held accountable

There are other hidden gems like Rajat Kapoor portrayal of K Madhavan and Kavin Dave as Rakesh, while the screen time is short the presence is impactful.

At the end of the show my heart did go out to the character and you could not help but relate to the situation, not to be with your loved ones during your final hours is something I would not even wish upon my worst enemy.

It’s a no brainer that Scam 1992 is a must watch.
